REDUCE, REUSE, RACE-CYCLE

Equal parts Scavenger Hunt, Community Volunteerism, and The Amazing Race, this event might be the most fun any group could possibly have while also giving back to the community! At the onset, teams will be furnished with blue plastic bags, a map of the area, and a series of clues. When solved correctly the clues will tell teams where to go to complete green and community-based challenges.

For example, one clue might lead a group to Bob the Builder (one of our actors), who will give them supplies to build a vehicle or boat that must harness wind power to move. Another clue might send teams to a local organization where they would participate in a community-based activity (such as painting a recreation room of a school, or reading to children, or making balloon flowers for hospital patients, etc.). Teams will get a certain number of recyclable items after completing each green challenge successfully.

In addition to participating in the various challenges at each location, teams will be able to pick up bonus points by gathering various recyclable and energy-related items along their way. After two to three hours, teams will be instructed to bring all of their recyclables and bonus items to the final destination, where the items will ultimately be weighed and tallied. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team. In keeping with the spirit of the event, we suggest providing a sum of money for the winning team to donate to a charity of their choice!
